High school students between the ages of 14 and 18 are encouraged to apply for jobs through Bernalillo County’s 2011 Summer Job Mentor Program. The program starts Monday, June 6, and runs eight weeks. It pays $7.50 per hour.
Eighty positions are currently open and the county’s Human Resources Department will work closely with those hired to place them in departments in which they have expressed an interest and where they can get the best on-the-job training possible for potential careers. The program has been around for about 15 years and has been highly successful in providing meaningful work experience for local youth.
Only electronic applications will be accepted at https://hr.bernco.gov/apply
. For more information, contact the Human Resources Department at 468-1500.
