Bernalillo County - Bernalillo County’s award winning website has just gotten better with flashier, easier- to-navigate content and live, streaming video capabilities. Starting this week users now also have the option to change font sizes and access Google maps when they click on county facility street addresses. The new and improved version cost $245,000 and was nearly two years in the making.
The county’s information technology department, Quantum Arts of San Francisco, and Albuquerque’s Mudhouse Advertising worked together to complete the project. County officials say the improvements are needed to accommodate a larger, more sophisticated audience. Bernalillo County’s website receives as many as 14-million hits a month compared with only one million in 2004 when the site was last updated.
“Bernalillo County’s Information Technology Department is proud to present the next generation of its public website which provides a new look and feel, new and improved public services, and, coming soon, a transparency portal for increased visibility and openness,” says Chief Information Officer Paul Roybal. “We will also offer social networking like Facebook and Twitter. Our priority is to keep Bernalillo County citizens informed in a timely fashion on events and news affecting them.”
