The 2013 Local Food Festival and Field Day at the Historic Hubbell House in Albuquerque’s South Valley was a great success! This year’s theme – “Returning to the Land: Planting the Future” – focused on celebrating our present-day New Mexico local food producers, and cultivating the next generation of New Mexico growers. Attendees visited young farmers and school-aged gardeners front and center involved in many festival favorites – live music, kids’ activities, workshops and more!
Tonight's "Stargazing & Music-making" event at Bachechi Open Space has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The Albuquerque area has received significant rainfall in the past 48 hours and more is likely for this weekend. The rest of Bernalillo County’s fall event lineup is still on schedule. For more details and updates, visit www.bernco.gov.
Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge invites you to join them for National Public Lands Day and together, plan the future of our public lands. This event will be packed with information, activities and fun for the whole family.
There are two more Open Space workshops scheduled for this weekend! Learn about local reptiles and amphibians, and about the important role water plays in our ecosystem on Aug. 24 at Bachechi Open Space. All events are free. Participants are encouraged to RSVP at www.bernco.gov/openspace or call Colleen McRoberts (505) 314-0398.
