The schedule for the Southside Water Reclamation Plant Odor Control construction facilities which is included in the FY 99 Plant Improvement Project is as follows.
Open Bids: Currently bid opening is scheduled for April 30, 2002. This may be extended by one week to May 7, 2002.
Start Construction: August 2002.
Phase 1: Complete the improvement work for the existing primary clarifiers odor control system in 120 days. This is a major off-site odor source according to the Odor Control Report.
Phase 2: Complete installation of a chemical scrubber system at the PTF and packed tower biofilter system at the dewatering in 365 days. Both of these facilities are listed as major off-site odor sources in the Odor Control Report.
Phase 3: Complete installation of activated carbon system at the sludge blending tank and a chemical scrubber system at the DAF in 450 days. The sludge blending tank and DAF are shown as minor off-site odor sources in the Odor Control Report. All remaining plant renovation work is included in this Phase.
With this construction completion schedule, the three treatment facilities with major off-site odor sources will be completed in 365 days (Primary Clarifiers in 120 days. PTF and Dewatering in 365 days).
