The South Valley Economic Development Center is a collaborative effort between Bernalillo County and the Rio Grande Community Development Corporation. The 15,000 square foot center is located at 318 Isleta SW in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Center supports local growers and business by providing a site for manufacturing and establishing networks among businesses, growers, distributors and retailers. It also provides technical assistance in the development of small business and educational and media campaigns.
The South Valley Economic Development Center is a small business incubator dedicated to helping new and existing small businesses in the South Valley and beyond obtain the resources and information they need to thrive. The SVEDC provides services in three major categories: low-cost office space, a commercial kitchen for rent and on-site training in business management.
Office Space: The SVEDC offers flexible leases on low-cost office space which include shared administrative and receptionist services, access to the internet and other benefits. It also provides opportunities to network with other emerging business owners. Priority on office space is given to businesses that employ South Valley residents, but all interested tenants should contact the SVEDC for more information either by phone at 877-0373 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Commercial Kitchen: The SVEDC boasts a state-of-the-art, fully-equipped FDA certified commercial kitchen facility for rent on a one-time or ongoing basis. Hourly rates vary depending on space, equipment and energy use between $14 and $35. The Kitchen is available for rent 24 hours, 7 days a week. Kitchen orientations are held twice a month. Reservations are requested, as space is limited.
Training: The SVEDC partners with a variety of organizations to offer trainings on a variety of topics of interest to small business owners including how to write a business plan, marketing, money management, taxes, contracting with the government and more.
The South Valley Economic Development Center is the product of years of collaboration among Bernalillo County, the Rio Grande Community Development Corporation, and UNM's Resource Center for Raza Planning. The Center is located at 318 Isleta SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105, two blocks south of Bridge. Office hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.
