Overview
The County Assessor's
Office determines the property value of homes, businesses, and other taxable
property in Bernalillo County. The Assessor's Office also prepares the tax roll
for the County Treasurer on real property (land and improvements); personal
property (office equipment); livestock and mobile homes.
The Treasurer's Office
is the property tax collector for the County of Bernalillo, City of Albuquerque,
Albuquerque Public Schools, the State of New Mexico, and other taxing entities
within Bernalillo County. Each year, the County Treasurer's Office mails more
than 250,000 property tax bills, plus approximately 25,000 delinquency notices.
The County Assessor sets the assessed valuation and the County Commission sets
the tax rate for County property. The individual taxing entities set other tax
rates, and the State Department of Finance and Administration gives final approval
for these rates.

Because the County Assessor
issues Notices of Value (Assessment Notices) approximately six months before
tax bills are mailed, if you are searching in the "current year" and
can't find your tax bill, please use the drop down menu and select the previous
year.
Location
The Assessor's Office
is located at 501 Tijeras NW, just across the street from the Albuquerque/Bernalillo
County Government Center. The Treasurer's Office is located in the lower level
of Government Center, One Civic Plaza NW. Both offices are in downtown Albuquerque
near 5th and Marquette. Parking is available on the street or in the underground
parking lot beneath Government Center.
Business Hours
Both the Assessor's and
Treasurer's Offices are open to the public Monday through Friday, from 8:00
am until 5:00 pm. County offices are closed for business on Saturdays, Sundays
and County Holidays.
