A Message from Joe Crelier, Risk Management Director:
Welcome to Bernalillo County Risk Management. This department enjoys the unique opportunity and responsibility to be a driving force behind programs, policies, and initiatives that prevent and control losses. Government operations inherently have unique risk challenges; Risk Management works with each department as we embrace those challenges together.
The Risk Management department has a staff of 10 professionals. Their specialties include government finance, teaching, quality control, claims adjusting, occupational safety and health, environmental science, aviation, insurance, and of course…risk management. Each has experience in both private industry and public sector work. I am very proud of these dedicated professionals in the Risk Management Department, and staff county-wide, who do their best every day to accomplish the county’s missions with safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Our web site describes strategies, insurance structures, programs, and partnerships the Risk Management Department develops or supports to save money for the citizens - our fellow taxpayers - of Bernalillo County.
This site also includes frequently asked questions, contact information, and a collection of web links we hope are helpful and informative for visitors.
