The overall goal of the masterplanning
process is to generate a long-term plan for a network of trails
and bike lanes to serve the current and future East Mountain community.
This network will accommodate a variety of users and uses. The trails
and bikeway corridors are intended to connect open spaces, parks,
community centers, schools, landmarks and other places of value
to the community. Community input will be the key to determining
destinations and how trails are managed.
The process for the master plan will include the
following activities:
Identify
and review existing trail facilites and related infrastructure
Identify
key potential users and uses af the trails system in the East Mountains
Identify
important places and corridors and their potential user groups
Identify
possible opportunities for connections and potential constraints
Determine
routes for proposed trails and bike lanes
Determine
gateways, major rest areas and interpretive places
Determine
implementation strategies and phasing.
The East Mountain Trails and Bikeways Facilities Master Plan generally
follows the timeline shown below.
