CARE Campus Resumes Normal Operations - Staff and Clients Test Negative for COVID-19

BERNALILLO COUNTY – The Department of Behavioral Health Services will resume normal operations, effective immediately.

Tuesday afternoon, the department was notified of a potential COVID-19 exposure on the CARE campus, by a recently discharged client. This client reported to Presbyterian Hospital and received a traditional COVID-19 test. The results from the test came back as negative. The department implemented precautionary measures and required all staff and clients from the CARE Campus, with both direct and indirect exposure to the potentially exposed client, to be tested. All of the test results came back as negative for both staff and clients.

The CARE campus continues to mitigate risk and protect the safety of staff and clients. The campus continues to follow proper safety guidelines and sanitization standards for the facility.

The Bernalillo County CARE Campus is dedicated to the continuum of care for individuals living with substance use addictions and mental health conditions. From homelessness to public safety, access to quality behavioral health care within the community is integral, and is offered in the heart of the international district.
