New Day Peer Drop In Center

New Day’s Youth BLAST (“Building Lives around Self Truth”) Peer Support Drop-in Center is a new program funded by Bernalillo County’s Behavioral Health Initiative. The focus of the Peer-Support Drop-in Center is offering low to no barrier support for young people who are experiencing homelessness, precariously housed, or who are disengaged or disconnected from school and/or community. New Day is partnering with other youth serving agencies to create a safe place for young people (16-22 years old) to develop positive connections and safely express themselves, while having easy access to items related to their basic needs, medical and behavioral healthcare, employment services, educational supports, legal aid, and positive youth engagement activities. Creating physical and emotional safety, fostering a sense of belonging, as well as cultivating a nurturing and supportive environment alongside young adult peer support workers and youth leaders are top priorities for Youth BLAST. The following are partnering agencies that will offer their services out of the center: Centro Savila, UNM Truman Health Services, Warehouse 508, and Pegasus Legal Services for Children.

Location: Johnny Tapia Community Center at Wells Park 500 Mountain Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102

Hours of Operation: Wednesday-Friday 12-7:30pm and phone: (505) 246-2247.
