LAVU Opens New Office Using County-Backed Money

    01/29/2019

Homegrown software company, LAVU, opened new offices in downtown Albuquerque on Third Street, using $270,000 in Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) money.

Bernalillo County is not using any county tax dollars for this project. The county will act as the fiscal agent for state LEDA funds, which includes ensuring that the terms of the LEDA grant are fulfilled.

“This expansion is to accommodate the growth of LAVU and potential new market opportunities,” says County Commission Vice Chair Debbie O’Malley. “LAVU is a homegrown business that continues to thrive and be a leader in the Bernalillo County tech market.”

LAVU, which utilizes the Job Training Incentive Program will add an additional 46 full-time positions over the next three years and will have a total workforce of 120 people.

County Commissioners approved the LEDA grant administration in June of 2018.
