Local Food Distributor Gets Approval for Expansion

10/24/2018

County Commissioners approved $80 million in industrial revenue bonds for Ben E. Keith Company to be used for the development of a new regional headquarters.

The commission approved the bonds which the company will use for a new office and warehouse to be located in an area southwest of the I-40 and Unser interchange.

“Ben E. Keith plans to use the bonds for construction, equipment purchase and land acquisition,” says County Commissioner Debbie O’Malley. “As with any bond issuance, this expansion will also result in the creation of almost 100 news jobs in Bernalillo County.”

Ben E. Keith is currently located on Broadway Boulevard in southeast Bernalillo County and is a broad line foodservice distribution company offering more than 20,000 products.

The bonds were approved on a unanimous 5-0 vote.
