Tiny Home Village Announces Requests for Construction Services Bids

09/23/2019

Bernalillo County is soliciting bids from general contractors for construction services for the Tiny Home Village and the Albuquerque Indian Center Project.

The Tiny Home Village pilot project will help to fill the gaps of transitional housing that is currently lacking in the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.

Goals for the Tiny Home Village:

  • Provide dignified, safe, stable, and attractive transitional housing for people currently experiencing homelessness
  • Incorporate housing, services, and employment to stabilize residents and help them regain self-sufficiency
  • Provide a safe space for those waiting for traditional affordable housing to become available

“We are just weeks away from taking design plans on paper and actually building the village,” states Commission Vice Chair Debbie O’Malley. “I would like to thank the surrounding residents and churches, and the advocates and elected representatives who whole-heartedly supported this project and helped to make it possible.”
