Second Round of COVID testing in South Valley Set for Dec. 8

Bernalillo County commissioner Steven Michael Quezada is declaring the first day of coronavirus testing at the Las Estancias Shopping Center location a big success with about 175 people getting tested on Nov. 28.

A second day of testing in the parking lot of the AMC movie theater is set for Dec. 8 and the commissioner is encouraging anyone who wants a test to get one.

“I’m so grateful that the residents of the South Valley are getting tested and protecting themselves and their families,” says County Commissioner Steven Michael Quezada. “These are the workers putting themselves out there every day who need an opportunity, close to home, to get tested and be responsible.”

Testing will be conducted at Las Estancias Shopping Center, in the movie theater parking near Coors and Rio Bravo Boulevards:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 8, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This is a public test site and anyone can get tested. Preference will be given to people exhibiting coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms; however, asymptomatic people can be tested as well. Asymptomatic means that a person is experiencing no symptoms or evidence of illness or abnormality.

Bernalillo County is asking those who get in line for a test to not block access to businesses in the area.
