At its April 23 administrative meeting the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners called upon all citizens of Bernalillo County to increase their participation and support of New Mexico United soccer club as fun and exciting entertainment.

The New Mexico United is the first professional soccer franchise in the state and soccer is quickly becoming a major sport for all ages in New Mexico with more than two million kids currently playing the sport nationwide.

The New Mexico United team will be playing a soccer match on May 5, 2019, a Cinco de Mayo event, and Bernalillo County Commissioner, Steven Michael Quezada, an avid soccer fan and supporter of professional sports in New Mexico is sponsoring the Cinco de Mayo match.

The match that day against San Antonio FC will feature a salute to Mexico and honoring all players from Latin American countries who contribute to the soccer experience in New Mexico.

On May 5, 2019, all New Mexicans are encouraged to go to the New Mexico United soccer game and support the state’s only professional soccer program as they play San Antonio FC and cheer them on to victory.
