12/18/2017

Assessor Tanya R. Giddings has mailed out personal property reporting forms to reported owners of business personal property, and livestock owners. Manufactured homes reports will be mailed out on Jan. 2, 2018.

Every year, personal property owners must complete a report with the Assessor’s Office regarding their property such as mobile homes, equipment used for businesses, or individual livestock located within the boundaries of the county.

The deadline to submit personal property reports to the Assessor’s Office is Feb. 28, 2018. Personal property owners who fail to submit these reports on time can face financial penalties and even be subjected to an audit.

For business owners who want to the file their business personal property reports online, they may use the e-file system located on the assessor’s website.

“This e-file system is just another measure our office has taken to improve customer service and efficiency through the increased use of technology,” says Bernalillo County Assessor, Tanya R. Giddings.

For tax year 2017, there was a total of 32,847 reports mailed out, with a total appraised value of $1.5 billion. Please visit the assessor’s website for additional information and to find the forms at https://www.bernco.gov/assessor.
