On June 15, 2021, the BCSO Homicide Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Jesus De La Cruz Hinojos for the murder of Raul Martinez. Detectives located and arrested Jesus De La Cruz Hinojos at his residence without incident.

June 14, 2021 BCSO Homicide Unit Arrests Man for Shooting at a Deputy
On June 11th, 2021, homicide detectives arrested Ryan Dunn on his outstanding warrant for aggravated assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon and he was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center. This investigation is ongoing. The BCSO Homicide and Violent Crimes detectives have done an outstanding job investigating the incident and taking the offender into custody without incident.
March 18, 2021 Twice Convicted Felon Arrested for Possession of Three Firearms; One Stolen
“The deputies involved in this investigation did a great job taking control of a dangerous situation and handled the situation like true professionals. We are proud of our proactive team that continues to remove violent offenders off the streets of Bernalillo County.” -Sheriff Manuel Gonzales III.
March 16, 2021 Violent Repeat Offender’s Twentieth Arrest in Bernalillo County; Failing to Appear and Violating Parole since 1996.
A known gang member and repeat offender, 43-year-old Raymond Vargas (Aka: Reynaldo, Gumby, Flaco, Rey, Joseph, Yao Ming), was arrested during the operation for a parole violation. Vargas has violated his parole over a dozen times since 2001 and continues to live a life of crime, after serving time in prison.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office will be increasing sobriety checkpoints and DWI saturation patrols beginning now and will continue through the summer months. Deputies will be specifically targeting alcohol and drug-impaired drivers to reduce the number of drunk driving-related crashes and fatalities on our roadways.

January 14, 2021 Sheriff Manuel Gonzales III Announces Seizure of 2,500 Fentanyl Pills
Albuquerque, NM – On January 12, 2021, Community Action Team (CAT) Detectives and Mobile Community Action Team (MCAT) Deputies, FBI Task Force Officers, and Safe Child Detectives collaborated to serve a search warrant at 7711 Morrow NE stemming from information obtained during a previous GRIP Operation. About 2,500 Fentanyl pills, about $2,000 cash, and a firearm were recovered through the investigation.
