Alvarado Square Closed Tuesday, Oct. 12

Bernalillo County @ Alvarado Square is closed today and will remain closed Tuesday, Oct. 12 because of early morning vandalism.

Today around 3:15 a.m., gunshots broke several fourth and fifth story windows in the open atrium lobby at Alvarado Square, the county’s new headquarters.

Broken glass is strewn throughout the lobby and the Albuquerque Police Department and the Bernalillo County’s Sheriff’s Office are still investigating.
Security officers were present in the building when the shooting occurred and were not injured.

Employees at Alvarado Square will continue to work remotely.
