Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Albuquerque, the County of Bernalillo, the Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, and the Village of Tijeras – signed 11/77; amended 1983 (establishing the term of membership to three years.)
Third Monday of each month, 11:30 a.m., location will be on the board’s monthly agenda.
The Senior Affairs Advisory Board shall advise the parties of the Joint Powers Agreement on matters pertaining to the needs, concerns and interests of older persons, and all other matters as they relate to the development and maintenance of a coordinated service system for older Americans.
The Senior Affairs Advisory Board shall consist of twelve (12) members to be as follows:
Terms shall be for three (3) years. The Senior Affairs Advisory Board has its own bylaws which state, “members may serve for an indefinite number of terms, as determined by the parties to the Joint Powers Agreement”. The composition of the board shall also, as closely as possible, approximate the following: More than 55 percent of persons older than 50 years of age. Representatives of organizations. For example: civic, non-profit, community organizations, business/industry, media, veterans/military, healthcare, education. Membership is open to individuals who reside in Bernalillo County.
