An absentee ballot can be cast by any eligible voter.

An absentee ballot must be requested by a voter by submission of an application not later than the Thursday immediately prior to the date of the election. The last day for our office to mail absentee ballots is the Friday before each election. Completed official mailing envelopes (with absentee ballots inside) shall be accepted until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

To request an absentee ballot application:

  • Fill out the absentee ballot application online (click here)
  • Request an application by phone (505) 243-VOTE (8683), option 2
  • Email your request to clerk@bernco.gov
  • Pick up an application at our office: One Civic Plaza NW, 6th Floor
  • Download the application here, call (505) 243-VOTE with any questions, complete and mail it in.

Voters are encouraged to call (505) 243-VOTE (8683) with any questions regarding absentee voting.
