Clerk’s Office Resumes Marriage License Application Processing

04/22/2020

Clerk Linda Stover recorded a video today to announce the limited resumption of marriage license application processing.

“Good news Bernalillo County! We’re going to start issuing marriage licenses again,” said Clerk Linda Stover. “It will be by appointment only starting Monday, April 27. There will be social distancing requirements and at least one of you must be from New Mexico, but I am so pleased to resume this vital service.”

To be eligible to obtain a marriage license under this limited resumption of service, at least one of the applicants must be from New Mexico. And, as One Civic Plaza NW remains closed to the public under a public health emergency order, the service is available by appointment only and limited to the two applicants. Walk-ins will not be permitted. To schedule an appointment, call 505-468-1290.

Applicants must bring documentation to the appointment, including current government issued picture ID, social security card, birth certificate and/or passport; and there is a $25 fee payable by cash or credit card. Please review the requirements in detail at Bernco.gov/clerk. Click on “Marriage Licenses”.
