Getting a Passport Just Got a Whole Lot Easier!

The U.S. Department of State has designated the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office as a Passport Acceptance Agency. Our office is now accepting new passport applications Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Here is what you will need to complete the passport application process in our office:

  • Completed passport form (unsigned)
  • Passport photo; our office will take your photo for $15
  • A certified copy of your birth certificate
  • Your driver’s license or a state-issued identification card

*Application Fees must be paid by check or money order ONLY, and are made payable to the U.S. Department of State.
**Acceptance Fees can be paid by check, credit card, or cash, and are made payable to the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office.

Passport Renewals

You may mail in your renewal application yourself. You do not need to make an appointment at an acceptance facility.

  • The Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office Bureau of Elections conducts Third Party Registration Agent Training for individuals or groups wishing to register potential voters or assist a voter in changes to their voter registration record. Third Party Agents are individuals who solicit and provide assistance to another person in the completion of a Voter Registration Form. Third Party Agents help fulfill an important role as partners in our outreach effort.

  • The last day to register to vote or update your voter registration for the 2018 Primary Election is Tuesday May 8,2018. You may register to vote if you are a resident of New Mexico, a citizen of the United States, eighteen years old or older at the time of the next election, not legally declared mentally incapacitated and convicted felons who have satisfied all the terms and conditions of sentencing. A certificate of completion must be provided. Click the attached link for more information.
