Mission Statement

The East Mountain open spaces are a collection of properties with natural and cultural resources whose special qualities of habitat, ecological sensitivity, cultural significance and educational and recreational values are protected and managed to benefit current and future generations of people and wildlife. The east mountain interpretive series aims to educate and engage the public in those properties about the land, culture, and environment of the East Mountains.

Program Overview

Tour Bernalillo County Open Space properties while learning about the history and environmental significance of the east mountain area. Some of the topics that have been explored as part of this series includes; medicinal plants, wildflower identification, wildlife tracking, bird watching, watershed management and more.
