BernCo Announces Housing Survey, Encourages Community Feedback

Bern Co LogoBernalillo County’s Housing Department has announced a new online survey aimed at gathering community input for what the housing and community development needs are for unincorporated areas of the county outside the city limits. The survey is open until Monday, April 28, and results will help housing officials develop a Housing Needs Assessment and HUD Consolidated Plan. To take the survey online, please click here.

The department manages 75 public housing units for the elderly and disabled at two locations, as well as a voucher program that helps qualified families find affordable housing.

Demand is high for both programs.

“This survey will help guide public policy and community development in Bernalillo County,” Housing Director Betty Valdez says. “The information gained from this study will help us effectively plan for our future housing needs. Community participation is very important to us, so please help by completing the survey before April 28.”
