BernCo Continues to Serve Breakfast and Lunch Five Days Per Week

Bernalillo County is continuing to serve the needs of county children by serving breakfast and lunch five days a week at six different county community centers.

The grab-n-go meals are served Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Mountain View Community Center, 201 Prospect Ave. SE
  • Paradise Hills Community Center, 5901 Paradise Hills Blvd. NW
  • Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center, 9800 Fourth St. NW
  • South Valley Multipurpose Center, 2008 Larrazolo Road SW
  • Vista Grande Community Center, 15 La Madera Road
  • Westside Community Center, 1250 Isleta Blvd. SW

Adults can drive-up to any of the centers, with their children in the vehicle, and center staff will provide a meal for every child. Any family with children are welcome to the meals.

The meals are prepared at the Albuquerque Public Schools central kitchen and distributed to the community centers daily.

Rachel (1907-1964) was a marine biologist when few women dared to even tread water. Her early childhood was spent exploring nature in western Pennsylvania. She wrote the book Silent Spring in 1962, which revealed the damaging use of the chemical compound DDT. It was banned in the United States in 1972. Ann Beyke has performed in local film, theater, television, radio plays and as a voice-over artist for over 25 years.
