07/18/2017
9:59 AM

Tiny home village coordinators are pleased to announce the next presenter in the educational outreach and speaker forum series.

Debbie Johnson, a healthcare professional with over twenty years of experience and the founder of TenderLove Community Center, will discuss individual empowerment through skills-building and micro-industries. Johnson will share her experiences with working and teaching the unhoused and low income in the community.

Wednesday, July 19
5:30 – 7 p.m.
Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice, Peace Hall202 Harvard Dr. SE

Experts say skills-building and establishing micro-industries within the tiny home village project is key to breaking the cycle of homelessness. Learning a skill set empowers the residents to create a better, stable, and self-sufficient future for themselves.

Coordinating volunteer efforts and providing a project update are also on the forum’s agenda.

This is the second in a series of educational and speaker forums taking place over the next couple of months.

Last November, voters approved a $2 million general obligation bond to fund the development of the tiny home village project. For more information about the tiny home village project, please visit www.bernco.gov/tinyhomevillage.

Live streaming of the forum will be available on the county’s Facebook account, Bernalillo County NM.
