The Prescription Trails Program (Rx Trails) developed a prescription tool and walking guide to increase walking and wheelchair rolling on suggested routes, targeting and promoting healthy lifestyle for families. 

Sedentary lifestyles contribute significantly to chronic disease and poor health outcomes. Rx Trails connects health care providers and their patients to walkable sites in the South Valley. The outcome is a healthier, happier society.

Prescription Trails Program major partners include: NM Health Care Takes on Diabetes, National Park Service, Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico, City of Albuquerque, New Mexico State Parks,  Albuquerque Alliance for Active Living and Bernalillo County Open Space.

*Thank you Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico for your generous donation to adopt Valle del Bosque as an Rx Trails. Your donation will go towards installing an interpretive sign at the property.

  • High Spirit has been providing dance classes in Albuquerque for more than 20 years and provides a variety of classes at Westside Community Center. For 5 years and older Cost is $35 a month. For more information please call (505) 831-1368.

  • A high impact dance workout incorporating hip hop, Latin rhythms, and a variety of dance styles, usic and movement, providing a fun and effective cardio workout. Participation is free but participants must sign registration and waiver forms.

  • Bernalillo County's popular "Movies in the Park" summer series kicks off June 5 and runs through August 1. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets; enjoy a free movie in the outdoors. It's today's version of a drive-in! Movies begin at dusk - and for the first time, food will be available at select venues for purchase.
