Open Space Etiquette to Consider When On-Site
 

You can do your part and set a good example for others by keeping Open Spaces clean, practicing good trail etiquette, being responsible with your pets in order to preserve Open Space properties for the safety and enjoyment of everyone.

  • Operation of motorized vehicles outside of designated areas
  • Dumping and/or littering
  • Possession of firearms, weapons, or explosive devices
  • Camping and open fires
  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Possession of glass containers
  • Pets off leash
  • Disturbing or feeding wildlife
  • Fishing, hunting or trapping
  • Swimming, wading, or bathing
  • Removing or disturbing natural or historic/cultural resources
  • Vandalism of any kind

A full list of prohibited activities can be found in Sec. 58-57 of the Bernalillo County Open Space Management Ordinances (Chapter 58, Article II of the Bernalillo County Code of Ordinances).
