The Bernalillo County Arts Board is seeking qualified artists and artist teams interested in creating public art for the Tiny Home Village.

BernCo Public Art Program Unsolicited Proposal Period Open for Submissions

Proposals received through May 31 will be reviewed at the June Arts Board meeting. Artists can submit proposals for a variety of media and styles including two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.

On Aug. 1, 2019, the new Alameda Drain Trail and "Outpost" Public Art works were dedicated on a renovated trail that spans one mile on north 2nd Street between Montano and Osuna.

BernCo Dedicates Public Art

Bernalillo County’s newest public art will be dedicated at a ceremony on Thursday, July 25 at 10 a.m. at the Vista Grande Community Center in the East Mountains. The two-part sculpture is titled, “Living Landscape” and is the brainchild and creation of artist Karen Yank.

  • Certified Mindfulness Teacher and Master Naturalist volunteer, Marnie Rehn, will guide you on a mindfulness exploration through Bachechi Open Space. Explore with your senses, igniting your sense of wonder as you experience yourself as part of the natural environment. Class size is limited to adhere to COVID-Safe practices and public health order guidelines. Upon registration, specific details will be provided about meeting location, how to prepare, where to park, and more. Register early to ensure your spot. Registration closes on April 14 or until class is filled.

  • In this workshop, we will use the ABQ Backyard Refuge Program (ABQ BRP) workbook and learn a myriad of ways the Bachechi Open Space might better support local plants and wildlife. Meet with the ABQ BRP team who will feature Bachechi Open Space as an example to demonstrate the first step in becoming a certified habitat – and in turn, be able to certify your own garden as a backyard refuge.
