    BernCo Commission Approves Purchase Agreement for Asian American Monument Public Art Sculpture

    The County Commission approved a motion authorizing an artwork purchase agreement with Cheryll Leo-Gwin and Stewart Wong, creators of the sculpture, "View from Gold Mountain," which will be located on the West side of the Second Judicial District Courthouse.

    New Finalists Chosen for Asian American Monument Public Art Sculpture

    The Asian American Monument Committee announces a second round of finalists for the Asian American Monument Sculpture Competition that will be located on the west side of the Second Judicial District Courthouse at 400 Lomas Blvd., NW. Final presentations are on Friday, Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon.

    Artist to Open New Exhibit at Bachechi Open Space

    Well-known New Mexico artist, Danielle Rae Miller is putting her latest artwork on display for public viewing. Bernalillo County Public Arts Program and Bernalillo County Open Space will host an opening reception for Miller on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bachechi Environmental Education Building.

    Reels and Wheels Documentary

    The documentary follows the Reels and Wheels commission by the Arts Board and the design/build process by artist Howard Meehan and culminates with the dedication of the piece in front of the Hiland Theater on Central Avenue on historic Route 66.

    Attendees of the celebration enjoyed hands-on art making, workshops, ”The Making of Reels and Wheels” Movie Premier, live music by Zack Freeman, and birthday cake.

    Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins is proud to announce the installation of a new District 3 art exhibit, which will be on display in the County Manager’s Office Suite through December.

    New Public Art Design Unveiled Aug. 3

    Students from Working Classroom in collaboration with artist Mark Horst welcome the community to view a large scale sculpture model which will eventually be located at Dolores Huerta Gateway Park.

    BernCo Public Art Sculpture Dedicated at Rape Crisis Center

    Commissioner Wayne Johnson and community members dedicated a bronze sculpture, Bird Ryders, at a special ceremony on Tuesday, April 11 at the Rape Crisis Center of Central New Mexico. The metal sculpture is funded by Bernalillo County 1% for the Arts.
