Free Summer Lunch Program

We offer the following programs:

Youth Programs:

 

  • Before School Program - Alameda Elementary
    • Registration begins July 24, 2017
    • Monday - Friday a.m. - until school begins
    • Fee: Full year - $280 or $90 per quarter, plus registration fee of $15 for first child and $10 for each additional child
  • Field Trip Camps 
    • $60 per week or $12 per day
    • *Field trip fees collected the day of – movies, bowling, zoo, Hinkle Fun Center
    • Call center at 468-7800 for calendar and field trip fees.
  • After School Program - Alameda, Alvarado, Los Ranchos and North Valley Academy Elementary
    • Registration begins July 24, 2017
    • Monday - Friday a.m. - dismissal until 6 p.m. 
    • Fee: Full year $425 or $135 per quarter or Wednesday-only $30 quarterly, plus an additional registration fee of $15 for first child and $10 for additional child
  • Summer Recreation (we offer the Summer Lunch program)
    • Summer Program begins June 12 - July 28 
    • Registration ongoing until filled
    • Fee: $280 per child + Registration fee of $15 for first child $10 for additional child
    • After the fourth week of the program the price is reduced to $160 for the remainder of the summer
    • Ages: 5 - 14 (Child must have completed kindergarten in order to attend program)
    • Description: This is a structured 7-week program. Youth participants are divided into age groups and rotate throughout the facility into various activities. Sports, fitness, creativity, and fun are our goals.
    • Field trips and specialty activities are offered weekly

  • Junior Achievement Program
    • October 11 and 12. Ages 5-14. Space is limited so register now.
  • Afterschool Excursions
    • Nov. 7 and 14
    • FREE - STEM Topic Program

Adult Programs:

  • Fitness Room
    • Monday-Friday 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. by appointment only
    • Fee $10 per month
    • Senior and current or past military (FREE)
  • Pottery Class (Begins Oct. 18)
    • Every Thursday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
    • $10 per month
  • Open Studio Pottery (Begins Oct. 19)
    • Every Friday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Basketball P2P - Pay to Play
    Enjoy playing basketball indoors? Adult Teams interested in playing are required to call ahead and reserve a session.
    • Fee is $25.00 per session
    • Session 1:  6:30-7:30 p.m.
    • Session 2: 7:45-8:45 p.m.

  • Kendo
    • Wednesday Class times: 6 - 8 p.m.

Senior Programs:

  • Senior Meal site
    Bernalillo County Parks and Recreation and the City of Albuquerque's Office of Senior Affairs sponsor a meal site Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. These nutritious meals are available to all seniors. If you would like to order a lunch, please call the meal site before noon at least one day in advance. Meals are served starting at 11:30 a.m. Monetary donations are accepted. Activities and may include: bingo, arts & crafts, ceramics, puzzles, exercise, field trips, card games, billards, swimming and computer activities.

  • Senior Pickleball
    Four times a week we offer a free, open gym to seniors who wish to play pickleball.
    • Mondays: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Practice (all levels)
    • Mondays: 12 - 2:30 p.m. Open Play
    • Tuesdays: 12 - 2:30 p.m. Open Play
    • Wednesdays: 12 - 2:30 p.m. Open Play
    • Thursdays: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Practice (all levels)
    • Thursdays: 12 - 2:30 p.m. Open Play

  • A delightful workshop that promises to inspire tending to beneficial insects and pollinators so that they can thrive in your yard. Learn early season strategies like knowing what to plant when managing spring yard preparations in a way that fosters a healthy environment. Plus, hear what’s happening in the current legislative session towards helping the survival of these vital insects. Presenters are Anita Amstutz, founder of the non-profit, Think Like a Bee, and Mary Jo Picha, BernCo master naturalist.

  • Master composter, John Zarola, will share how raised garden beds in the high desert present many useful management options for home gardeners. The class topics include bed set-up and sheet composting for soil fertility as well as making soil amendments, the types of mulches and which irrigation methods are well-suited for raised beds.
