BernCo Commission Seeks Applicants for State Senate District 16 Seat

The Bernalillo County Commission is accepting applications from individuals interested in representing New Mexico Senate District 16, located in Bernalillo County.

On Tuesday, Jan. 8, Cisco McSorley, the state senator who represented District 16, resigned.

The Bernalillo County Commission will choose a replacement. Candidates have until noon on Friday, Jan. 11 to send letters of interest.

Applicants are asked to submit a letter of interest to the Bernalillo County Manager’s Office, Attention Julie Morgas Baca, Suite 10111, One Civic Plaza NW, Albuquerque, NM, 87102 or by email to manager@bernco.gov.

Any interested person must be a U.S. citizen, be at least 25 years old and live in Senate District 16.

A Special Meeting to appoint a new State Senator is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at 10 a.m. to be held in the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Government Center building, One Civic Plaza NW, Tenth (10th) Floor, county manager’s Conference Room B, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
