South Valley MainStreet (SVMS) has a number of projects to improve and beautify the district in order to retain and attract new businesses to the area.

Façade Improvement Project – SVMS received a $15,000 from a PNM grant to revitalize four buildings in the 800 block of Bridge Boulevard. These buildings were painted by volunteers in the spring and summer of 2015. The second round of facade improvements were completed in July of 2017.

TIF District - The SVMS board created a new mechanism for funding capital projects and operations within the South Valley Metropolitan Redevelopment Area along Bridge and Isleta Boulevards. The TIF District was approved in 2016.

Business Outreach – SVMS is working with the South Valley Entrepreneurial Network to assist and support local businesses, especially Spanish speaking entrepreneurs. There is a weekly meeting at the South Valley Economic Development Center every Thursday morning at 9 a.m.

"I Love the South Valley Because" Campaign - The campaign is a community project to highlight all of the positive assets of the South Valley and to promote the arts, culture, history, food, people, traditions, community events, artists, farms and businesses in the area.
