Free Business Summit to Tackle Broadband Challenges in the East Mountains


Join District 5 Commissioner James Smith and Bernalillo County Economic Development on Sept. 8, 2018 for “Broadband Challenges in the East Mountains,” a conversation with panelists regarding the challenges to achieving reliable, consistent internet service.

The event will take place at 8:30 a.m. at Los Vecinos Community Center, 478 NM-333, in Tijeras and will include the following:

8 – 8:30 a.m. Registration and beverage service

8:30 – 9:50 a.m. Panel Discussion with Q&A session

10 – 11 a.m. Facilitated roundtable discussions

11 a.m. – noon Networking session in exhibit area

“This is an opportunity to have a frank and open discussion about the future of internet service in the east mountain area,” says Commissioner James Smith. “The prime players and companies that have the insight and ability to effect change will be front and center in the discussion.”

Greg E. Perez – Bernalillo County Fire Chief

Leo Baca – N.M. Government Affairs Director at CenturyLink

Damian Donckels – Director of Engineering at AT&T

Steven Grabiel – President at Higher Speed Internet
