Local Tech Company Awarded LEDA Grant and Industrial Revenue Bonds

The Bernalillo County Commission has voted to award $25 million in county industrial revenue bonds (IRB) and act as the fiscal agent for more than $2 million in state Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) funds for a local tech company.

3-D Glass Solutions will use the money to relocate its operations to a site in the northern part of Bernalillo County and will create 139 additional full-time positions.

3-D Glass Solutions manufactures glass-based, system in package (SIP) devices that are used in radio-frequency electronics, automotive radar, integrated circuit electronics, medical devices, aerospace defense and more.

“This is a great opportunity to foster high-paying, benefits based jobs in the county,” says County Commission Vice Chair Lonnie Talbert. “Those fortunate enough to get one of these positions will also be working for a cutting-edge technology company that’s homegrown.”

Bernalillo County will enter into a Public Participation Agreement with 3-D Glass solutions to account for the LEDA funds and job creation commitment.

The LEDA and IRB funding was approved by the commission on a 5 to 0 vote.
