Recommended Ages: All ages
Discover how the people of the Southwest used their environment to produce a variety of baskets and textiles. Experience the complexity and skill required for the weaving process.
Paper weaving: Participants can use paper strips to make mats or baskets.
Note: Baskets are challenging for young hands, so working with a parent/guardian is advised for younger children.

Study the cultural significance of the rock art found in the Petroglyph National Monument. We will look at the importance of preservation and practice making our own images by making magnets. Participants can paint or scrape their own images on plaster magnets using twig brushes.
