Backyard Farming Series Extended

Bernalillo County – Bernalillo County Parks, Recreation and Open Space is extending its Backyard Farming Series for an additional week to offer a sheet mulching workshop.


Sheet mulching is described as composting in place, removing the hassles of tilling decaying materials. This technique will also suppress weeds as it harnesses the benefits of compost, which include enhancing soil and plant health and reducing the need for irrigation.

WHAT: Sheet Mulching Workshop


WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 9, 9 a.m. - noon


WHERE: Gutierrez-Hubbell House

6029 Isleta Blvd., SW


The workshop is free, open to the public and will feature experts providing practical information for this hands-on experience.
