Bernalillo County – Bernalillo County Clerk Linda Stover reminds citizens that early voting for the Dec. 10 Albuquerque Runoff Election begins tomorrow, Nov. 19, 2019.

“Over 22,000 voters cast a ballot for a candidate in Albuquerque City Council Districts 2 and 4,” says Clerk Stover. “Let’s keep the momentum going. Five early voting locations will be open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. starting tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 19, to Saturday, Dec. 7.”

The Runoff Election for City Council Districts 2 and 4 is required under the Top-Two Runoff Election rule which requires candidates for Albuquerque City Council to receive fifty percent or more of the votes cast for the office in question. If no candidate receives 50% of the votes, the two candidates who receive the highest number of votes automatically become the candidates for the runoff election. The District 2 candidates are Isaac Benton and Zackary Quintero. The District 4 candidates are Brook Bassan and Ane Romero.

The five early voting locations will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Nov. 19 to Dec. 7, 2019. Please note they will be closed on Nov. 28, 29 and 30 for Thanksgiving. The locations are as follows:

Clerk’s Annex – 1500 Lomas Blvd NW, Suite A (map)
Daskalos Center - 5339 Menaul Blvd NE (map)
Holly Plaza – 6600 Holly Ave NE, Suite B-6 (map)
Los Ranchos Villa – 6601 4th St NW, Suite E, F (map)
The Shoppes at 6001 San Mateo – 6001 San Mateo Blvd NE, Suite B-3 (map)

Applications for absentee ballots will be accepted through Dec. 5. Applications may be made online on the Secretary of State’s website (link). Voters may also request the application by telephone (505-243-8683) or by email (clerk@bernco.gov).
