Metropolitan Detention Center to Hold First Responders Hiring Event

On Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) will partner with NM Workforce Connection to hold a first responders job fair, with nearly a dozen other public safety, law enforcement and military agencies.

Saturday’s event will be held at NM Workforce Connection, where applicants can speak with recruiters from a variety of agencies, including the Albuquerque Police Department, Los Alamos Fire Department, New Mexico State Police, Rio Rancho Police and Fire, Sandoval County Detention Center, New Mexico Corrections Department, New Mexico National Guard and more.

Metropolitan Detention Center recruiters will hold on-site interviews. Working for Bernalillo County at MDC provides many attractive benefits, including the ability for corrections officers to retire after 25 years, extensive medical insurance, as well as 13 vacation days and 13 sick days per year.

The Metropolitan Detention Center is looking for dedicated individuals, who have a passion for protecting and serving their community. An ideal corrections officer is someone who has excellent communication skills, is able to problem-solve in evolving situations and is someone who has compassion, empathy and respect for themselves, co-workers and inmates.

Interested applicants should dress for success and bring their resumes.
