BernCo Conducting Virtual Food Safety Checks

Bernalillo County food safety inspectors are still on the job and conducting food safety checks via the web or by phone. The checks are non-binding and are not inspections, but are an effort to ensure that all restaurants still operating during the coronavirus (COVID-19) health emergency are maintaining proper safety standards and following the public health order.

County Restaurant Workers Urged to Wear Masks and Gloves

Bernalillo County, in keeping with state mandates, directives and recommendations, is urging all restaurants to adhere to New Mexico Health and Environment Department guidance that all restaurant employees providing curbside, take-out, or delivery service wear a protective mask and gloves while performing these services.

Plastic Bag and Single-use Polystyrene Containers Ban Goes into Effect on Jan. 1, 2020 in Unincorporated Bernalillo County

Beginning Jan.1, 2020, retailers in the unincorporated areas of Bernalillo County, outside the city limits of Albuquerque and the village limits of Tijeras and Los Ranchos, will be required to stop providing plastic single-use carryout bags and single-use polystyrene containers to customers.
