The Public Works Department is responsible for ensuring that pedestrian facilities in the public right-of-way in unincorporated Bernalillo County comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

An individual who is dissatisfied with the outcome of their modification request my file a grievance for further review and resolution. Bernalillo County’s ADA Transition Plan identifies barriers to accessibility and outlines the budget, resources and schedule to remove barriers. This plan also describes the public input used to develop the plan and prioritize improvements.

Bernalillo County ADA Self-Evaluation Inventory

The ADA Self-Evaluation Inventory is an MS Excel file spreadsheet with detailed measurements taken to determine if facilities meet ADA compliance. Included in the spreadsheet are general county area, County Commission District, priority points, estimated costs, and the name of the project if the facility falls within the scope of a near-term or mid-term project.
