118th St. Alignment Study at I-40

Project Scope

Bernalillo County Public Works has hired Wilson & Company to complete an alignment study of 118th Street SW, a future principal arterial, from Eucariz Avenue to Ladera Drive. The study will help determine the location of a future I-40 interchange. The project includes the following phases:

Phase 1 – Preliminary Engineering

Gather data; coordinate with Public Works and affected agencies including New Mexico Department of Transportation, City of Albuquerque, PNM, AMAFCA, and ABC Water Utility Authority.

Phase 2 – Alternatives and Final Alignment

Prepare a brief summary of each alternative, review with Public Works and agencies, and make a preferred selection based on topography, drainage, platting, and roadway standards. Determine final centerline/ horizontal alignment, vertical profile, and potential right-of-way needs.

Final deliverables will include plan and profile drawings and technical memo on the three alternatives, an alignment drawing showing right-of-way needs in KMZ, GIS, and CADD formats.
