Alameda Drain Trail – Phase 1

The Alameda Drain & Trail Master Plan (master plan) finalized in fall of 2016 provides a framework for improvements along the nine-mile corridor that runs from Interstate 40 to the northern end of 2nd Street. This master plan is the result of a collaborative, four party agreement between Bernalillo County, the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCD), the City of Albuquerque and the Albuquerque Metropolitan Flood Control Authority (AMAFCA).

Phase 1 of the Alameda Drain and Trail includes improvements from intersection of 2nd St. and Montano Rd. and ends at the intersection of 2nd St. and Osuna Rd. in Bernalillo County. The project includes construction of a shared-use trail along the Alameda Drain, add landscaping and other trail amenities, as well as water-quality features at existing storm water outfalls to the drain.
