Unser Boulevard Sound Study Public Meeting Scheduled

Bernalillo County will be hosting a public meeting to share the results of the recently completed Unser Boulevard sound study conducted between Paradise and Irving Boulevards.

The purpose of the sound study was to determine if noise walls are needed to diminish the traffic noise levels along that stretch of the Unser corridor.

Those residents whose properties are adjacent to the proposed noise walls will have to vote in favor of a wall before it can be built.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 23 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Paradise Hills Community Center, 5901 Paradise Blvd. NW.

At the meeting, the results of the sound study will be discussed, as well as the potential positive and negative impact of building a wall.

The sound study can be reviewed online at www.bernco.gov/projects.

Residents are encouraged to attend the public meeting to learn more about the sound study, the proposed noise walls and to share their comments.
