Substance Abuse Programs

The Department of Substance Abuse Programs operates the Milagro Residential Program.

This program provides housing, medical services, case management, and drug rehabilitation services to Pregnant/Post Partum Women and their infants. Through collaborative efforts with the New Mexico Department of Health and the University of New Mexico, DSAP operates the eight-bed Milagro Residential Program on the MATS campus. Millagro serves women in the community, as well as women transitioning from the Metropolitan Detention Center. To be considered for the Milagro Residential Program, an application must be completed and submitted to DSAP. Admissions to the program are based on a joint decision from UNM, DOH, and DSAP to ensure all aspects of care needs are met.
